About Vancouver Dentist Dr. Anita Jain

I was born and raised in Calgary and moved to Vancouver immediately after graduating from dental school at the University of Alberta in 2006.

I graduated with honours and several prestigious awards for clinical excellence and community involvement. During my first five years as a dentist I worked at a few different clinics, learning from other professionals and developing my own approach to providing comprehensive dental care. I have spent the past year and a half as the sole dentist in the town of Logan Lake, BC, in the rolling mountains between Merritt and Kamloops. It was an unorthodox choice, but I gained a tremendous amount of experience and was able to receive the mentorship of Dr. D. Takahashi in Kamloops, one of Canada's foremost practitioners in implant dentistry.

Before and during dental school I took several trips to Nicaragua as a dental volunteer. The first one was on my own when I was young and naïve and I went around teaching small children about brushing their teeth in broken Spanish. The subsequent trips were with the Canadian dental volunteer organization ‘Kindness In Action’, which sends groups all over the world to provide emergency dental care to impoverished communities. We would pull up in a school bus, set up all of our equipment, and treat hundreds of people who would lie on whatever tables and benches were available. It was very interesting and rewarding and I look forward to participating in similar organizations, both locally and internationally, now that I am established in Vancouver.

I am committed to continuing dental education for myself and staff as it allows us to expand upon our skills and keep current on technological advances, thereby providing you and your family with the best care possible.
